eBay Invites TRUSTe Scrutiny

By creating a comprehensive privacy policy and opening itself up to independent review by TRUSTe, eBay has earned the loyalty of millions of auction-crazed customers. TRUSTe is a non-profit organization that seeks to educate Internet users and to encourage Internet sites to regulate themselves.

eBay has proven that auctions are a very successful way to do Internet business. The company realized early on that Web servers are its life. Hackers repeatedly attack eBay’s site to try to crash those servers. With every attack, eBay improves its system. eBay also realizes that customers won't feel comfortable doing business unless they know that the venue is safe. eBay's diligent application of technology and good business sense have kept hackers and thieves away and kept customers coming back.
