eBay's Little Brother

Half.com may be younger than its sibling site eBay, but it's no half-pint. This gigantic resale site is a shopper's (and seller's) paradise. Books, music, movies, and software are what they do best, but you can shop here for everything from jewelry to power tools, as well. More like a garage sale than an auction, sellers post their wares at a fixed price. All items are classified by varying degrees of wear and tear ranging from "Like New" to "Acceptable."

The shopping experience on this site is comparable to Amazon.com or any other major online retailer. After you find the item you're looking for, you can choose from a listing of all the sellers offering it. Choose the price and condition that meets your needs and click to buy. The transaction process also mirrors what you would expect from other online stores, complete with standard shipping charges and the ability to purchase multiple items (from multiple sellers) all at once. Half.com acts as a middleman to notify the appropriate sellers who are expected to confirm your order and ship your items within 48 hours.
